Honored and excited to see THE PLAYWRIGHT’S HOUSE in such great company as a finalist for the Massachusetts Book Award.
I’m incredibly excited and honored to be in conversation with my oldest and dearest friend, Jonathan Escoffery, for his book launch on September 6th at Porter Square Books and GrubStreet. His debut, If I Survive You, is simply masterful fiction. As Marlon James put it, “These are the stories that we never believed could be told, until Jonathan Escoffery told them.”
I was very happy to see this wonderful review of The Playwright’s House in the Los Angeles Review of Books:
“The characters in Dariel Suarez’s impressive debut novel…represent the broad spectrum of people that make up present-day Cuban society. The novel shows a generation and a country with its own challenges and difficulties, but despite many hindrances, this Cuba, like the story’s main character, is still capable of evolving in its own time.”
